I’ve never tried it. It also looks like ipv6 is also clever enough to provide a link-local IP based off the MAC, which should be plenty sufficient.

Would Mobile IPv6 provide what your are looking for in terms of allowing the same IP address for the Virtual Machine as it moves around?
